It supports skaters, NSOs, officials, coaches, and volunteers.

Minimum skills are the standardised set of skating abilities every roller derby skater must demonstrate before being cleared for contact, scrimmage, and bouts. They cover skating basics, stops, falls and recovery, contact skills, and pack awareness.

8Wheels tracks all 21 skills in a visual skill tree. You rate each skill from "Not Attempted" through to "Excelled", and the app shows you exactly where you stand.

Absolutely. 8Wheels supports multiple derby roles including Skater, Skating Official / Referee, NSO (Non-Skating Official), Bench / LUM / Volunteer, and Coach / Trainer. Non-skating roles get a streamlined experience focused on rules learning and official guides.

A dedicated roller derby bout tracker is currently in development. When it launches, you will be able to log bouts, track jams played, points scored, penalties, lead jammer percentage, and performance notes. Beta testers will be the first to access it.

Yes — 8Wheels was designed with Freshies in mind. The Foundations tier walks you through every basic skill. The structured skill tree gives new skaters clear goals and a visible path forward.
