Minimum skills are the standardised set of skating abilities every roller derby skater must demonstrate before being cleared for contact, scrimmage, and bouts. They cover the fundamental building blocks of safe, effective derby skating.
The assessment tests skating basics (stance, strides, crossovers), stops (T-stop, plow stop, hockey stop), falls and recovery (single-knee, double-knee, 180-degree), contact skills (blocking, taking hits, whips), and pack awareness. Most leagues require skaters to pass all minimum skills before participating in scrimmages.
Rate each skill using colour-coded levels. Update them during session logging so your progress stays current without extra effort.

Skills are organised into a visual tree with branches for each area of derby skating. Each branch shows a progress bar and percentage, so you can see at a glance which areas are strong and which need work.
Tap into any branch to see individual skills with their current status. Update ratings during session logging — rate the skills you practised as part of recording your session, so progress stays current without extra effort.
Your overall progress percentage shows how close you are to passing your assessment. Share it with your coach and set a target date.
